The Afinia L502 continues the tradition of high quality, professional image output originally offered by the popular L501 printer. The L502 printer offers a newly designed steel construction shell updated firmware to provide the perfect combination of durability and functionality as well as faster print speeds (compared to the L501).
The Afinia L502 label printer still offers the same multi-functional Duo Ink HP Thermal Inkjet Printing technology giving you the the ability to easily switch between dye based and pigment based inks. This flexibility essentially provides you with two printers in one allowing you to change inks as needed to match the specific needs of your projects.
When the needs of your organization are always changing, you need the proper equipment that can keep up. The Afinia L502 label printer not only prints fast, but thanks to multi-functional Duo Ink HP Thermal Inkjet Printing technology, you can easily switch between dye-based inks and pigment-based inks. The Afinia L502 pigment printer is built with a hardened steel casing and improved firmware for improved features and doubled printing speed*. In addition, Afinia’s duo-ink technology offers labels resistant to water, moisture, chemicals, abrasion and UV/sunlight with pigment based inks or eye-catching, bold images with dye based inks.
Because of its versatile design, you can easily and quickly switch between ink types by simply swapping print heads. For labels that might be subjected to moisture, abrasion or UV, install the pigment printhead and inks for durable, attractive labels. For labels in less demanding environments, install the dye printhead and ink for beautiful, vivid images.

Memjet® printers are compatible with Windows PCs and include full Windows drivers and utilities. At this time, there is no native macOS driver support. Mac users can print via a Windows PC acting as a network print server or by running Windows on a Mac (virtual machine/Boot Camp/Parallels), but direct macOS installation isn’t supported. If direct macOS support is required, consider one of our Epson ColorWorks printers.

We looked at the Epson TM-C3500 and C7500 but the ability to print up to 8.5 inches (the Epsons are only around 4″) AND swap between pigment and dye inks with the L502 was a no-brainer.
